Job Description:

We are looking for a looking for a highly motivated, design focused Project Architect (must be a registered Architect or in the process to become registered). You must have a strong design sensibility, excellent communication skills, and be able to work well with people at all levels of the firm. You should be someone who is looking for career growth and is ready to manage small to mid-size projects and support larger higher projects for a variety of building types using Revit/AutoCAD for volumetric steel modular residential, commercial, multi-family, hospitality and industrial buildings. This will be done both in traditional construction modalities, as well as through new innovative modes and methods using new materials and technologies to create better, stronger, lighter, more-sustainable, water and mold resistant, energy efficient buildings.

You will work collaboratively with our outstanding team of dedicated creative teammates, including architects, fabricators, contractors, and engineers, in the development of new company standards for Revit based construction/production drawings.

Responsibilities include working with the in-house design team and other consulting team members to coordinate drawings with other design professionals, plot and issue drawings as required by the project team and ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented; assist in scheduling of drafting production to meet both internal and external deadlines; coordinate with other design team members to gather building dimensions, drawing requirements, BIM details, and drawing markups; create construction and production documents for a variety of building types using Revit/AutoCAD in compliance with the company’s principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration.

This position requires proficiency in the use of Revit, and the ability to take concepts and sketches and convert them into accurate models and drawings in a logically organized way. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace is an essential function of the job. Experience with modular construction is desirable.

Required Experience:

  • Must have 3+ years’ Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture
  • Licensed Architect or in process of becoming licensed
  • Must have 3+ years of experience working on/managing projects in an architectural design firm with Revit experience in multi-family, residential, commercial, hospitality, retail and industrial buildings.
  • Must have a core understanding of current design codes and BIM best practices.
  • Experience applying new technology, software, and scripting to improve traditional design, manufacturing, and construction processes
  • Interest or experience with prototyping and developing new products or design concepts
  • Familiarity with industry standard design tools (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of IBC and UBC families of codes

Preferred:

  • Experience with Steel Volumetric Modular Construction

Education and Licensure

  • Diploma or Certificate in drafting or technology from an accredited University or Technical College or a B.S. Degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited University;

  • English (Required)
