Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated, design focused Architectural Associate to assist our in-house project team in generating clear diagrams, technical drawings, and code analysis of volumetric steel modular buildings.

The candidate must have a strong design sensibility, excellent communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels of the firm. You should also be someone who is looking for career growth. You will work on a variety of building types using Revit/AutoCAD for volumetric steel modular residential, commercial, multi-family, hospitality and industrial buildings, both in traditional construction modalities, as well as through new innovative modes and methods using new materials and technologies to create better, stronger, lighter, more-sustainable, water and mold resistant, energy efficient buildings.

You will work closely with our in-house design professionals providing support towards project-related design execution. On a daily basis you will help in the preparation of project plans, diagrams, renderings, and presentations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand design intent and goals for successful implementation.
  • Assist teams to develop assemblies and details that are applicable to both manufacturing and construction.
  • Participate in the Research and Development realm, specifically in the design and documentation of modular building systems.
  •  Assist with research, data compiling, and documentation at all phases of design, including feasibility, concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Provide graphic support for project teams in preparing for presentations, by generating diagrams, renderings, and other design drawing.

You will work collaboratively with our outstanding team of dedicated creative teammates, including architects, fabricators, contractors, and engineers, in the development of new company standards for Revit based construction/production drawings.

This position requires proficiency in the use of Revit, and the ability to take concepts and sketches and convert them into accurate models and drawings in a logically organized way. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and interact effectively with others in the workplace is an essential function of the job. Experience with modular construction is desirable.Required Experience:

  • 0 - 5 years of experience in architecture.
  • Knowledge of architecture and architectural principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Ability to interpret applicable building codes, local ordinances, and regulatory agencies.
  • An interest or background in any of the following is a plus: modular and prefabricated building systems, design build project experience, sustainable and green building practices. 
  • Strong skills in Autodesk Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong rendering capabilities and aesthetic
  • Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or parametric scripting a plus.

Education and Licensure:

  • Diploma or Certificate in drafting or technology from an accredited University or Technical College or a Bachelors or Masters Degree in architecture from an accredited University.
