Job Description:

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to be part of our in-house team in Berwick, PA or New York, NY to develop electrical, designs and contribute to the engineering of volumetric steel modular residential, commercial, multi-family, hospitality and industrial buildings, both in traditional construction modalities, as well as through new innovative modes and methods using new materials and technologies to create better, stronger, lighter, more-sustainable, water and mold resistant, energy efficient buildings.

You will work collaboratively with our outstanding team of dedicated creative teammates, including architects, fabricators, contractors, and other engineers, in the development of new company standards.

Qualified candidates will have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of building electrical systems design experience, including power, lighting, lightning protection, fire alarm, security and IT systems. Must have E.I.T. registration as a professional electrical engineer. This individual shall be proficient in AutoCAD & Revit. It is imperative that this individual be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a good communicator. Qualified candidates will have familiarity with LEED and green building design, along with detailed knowledge of the most current lighting and electrical conservation technologies.

Major responsibilities of this position include:

  • Hands on experience in Electrical BIM modeling & Project Management
  • Oversee the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up/cutover, and subsequent operation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of local and national building codes and standards.
  • Prepare basic electrical system drawings and details along with the ability to determine design calculations and specifications requirements.
  • Partner closely with assigned project architects to develop, verify and coordinate technical aspects of all designs.
  • Maintain project documentation, including calculations, project files, etc.
  • Interface with vendors; evaluate/select equipment under supervision.
  • Assist with review of electrical production drawings; respond to Requests for Information.
  • Travel as required by project assignments.
  • Modelling the project as per LOD 350 with tolerance of 1/32".
  • Perform clash detections among all trade models (MEP)
  • Self-motivated talent management characteristics with problem solving skills balancing cost and risk
  • Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to the manager.
  • May coordinate and/or attend client meetings (pre-construction, coordination, etc.) and participate in public meetings
  • May provide direction to designers and drafters such as redlining plans
  • May assist in preparation of materials for proposals such as budgeting hours or expectations for deliverables and/or budget analysis and billing of projects
  • May provide training to other staff members
  • Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices
  • Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help others achieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate
  • Suggest new ideas and processes; stay informed of developments in practice areas; view obstacles as opportunities

Preferred:

  • Experience with Steel Volumetric Modular Construction
  • Experience with automation of Engineering Tasks

Education and Licensure:

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University; MS a plus, with an emphasis in construction
  • E.I.T. Registration

License:

  • P.E. (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Electrical Engineering: 3+ years (Preferred)
